The Smithsonian’s Free Museum Day is happening this year on September 21, but you can snag your tickets for the day now.
If you’re not familiar, Free Museum Day is a day once a year where museums around the country allow visitors to come in for free, as long as they’ve obtained a free ticket prior to their arrival via the Smithsonian’s website.
More than 1,300 museums across all 50 states participate in the event.
The only catch is that you can only get a ticket to one museum, so it’s best to do your research and choose wisely before you make your selection.
That said, each ticket is good for two people, so if you’re having trouble deciding which museum to use your ticket at, it might make sense to join forces with a pal so you both can go to two museums for free instead of just one.
You’re also allowed one free ticket per email address, so if you have a couple of those you might be able to score a few extras as well.
